Joel Vetsch was born & raised in the small town of Colstrip, Montana, relocating to Connecticut in 2008. After watching "Raiders of the Lost Ark" at the age of 12, he decided he wanted to make movies.
Joel has worked hard creating a diverse resume in film with acting, directing, and writing credits to his name; his work has been broadcast on CNN and on television overseas. His recent credits include "Elm City Pulp" (writer, director, lead actor), which was selected for the Reel New Haven Film Festival, and "Hold On" (director, cinematographer). He is busy behind and in front of the camera working on some exciting projects including the upcoming "Kharon Fare Chronicles".
Joel Vetsch acted opposite Leo Petry in an intense short film directed by David C. Diaz about two hitmen at odds in the tight quarters of a kitchen.
On March 28, 2009 at 10:43 pm the film, "Kharon's Fare", was broadcast on TV across CT, MA, and NY on Channel Thirteen / WNET New York."Kharon's Fare", written by Matt Raimo, portrays a life and death struggle between two hitmen in another corner of the underworld.
This is the broadcast of the short film, that aired twice that night (rebroadcast at 2:17 am).
"Elm City Pulp" was directed and written by Joel Vetsch, starring Cassandra Ritone, Haydria Bish, Leo Petry, and Joel Vetsch. The short film premiered August 5th, at 7 pm at the Reel New Haven Short Film Festival. The movie is a murder mystery which straddles the past and the present. It is 12 minutes in length.
